Ya sabemos que los registradores de dominios no suelen poner fácil obtener el auth code de un dominio para así poder transferirlo a otro registrador.

A veces es realmente difícil poder obtenerlo, otras, en cambio, es relativamente fácil, sólo hay que saber donde demonios han colocado dicho auth code para poder saberlo. Y como en esto no hay un estandar, y cada registrador utiliza no sólo su propia interfaz sino su propio nombre para designar el auth code, localizarlo puede costar más o menos minutos y paciencia.

Vamos a ver cómo podemos obtener el auth code de Hover.

1. En primer lugar, tenemos que acceder a Hover y hacer clic en login.

2. A continuación, tenemos que hacer clic en la pestaña “Account“.

3. Seguidamente, clic en “Registry Records“. (ver imagen)

4. En la página que obtendremos a continuación, en la columna de la derecha podemos observar el contacto administrativo, los datos de facturación, los datos del propietario del dominio y los “Domain Setting” , y es justamente aquí donde nos indica el auth code (ver imagen).

Una vez ha expirado un dominio, puedes hacer backorder desde las diferentes plataformas que existen para ello. Si varias personas han realizado un backorder, entre todas ellas se realiza una subasta. Las diferentes plataformas suelen avisarte (de diferente forma) de que se inicia la subasta, para que estés al corriente de ella.

Snapnames te envía un correo electrónico con el asunto Auctions for back-ordered domain names are starting which will end on Mar 26, 2008, y con el siguiente texto:

The domain names you back-ordered have been acquired. As a result, a brief auction will take place for each domain name to determine to whom the domain name will be awarded. Cuando estás en una subasta, es posible que otra persona supere tu puja y por lo tanto te quedes sin la posibilidad de conseguir el dominio.

¿ Qué es Bido? O mejor ¿que será Bido?

Esta es posiblemente una pregunta que nos hemos formulado algunos domainers, pues hace ya algunos meses que se está hablando de Bido.com pero aún no sabemos realmente que va a ser Bido.

De momento, lo único que sabemos es que Bido será una plataforma de servicios para domainers, fundada por Ron Jackson (DNjournal.com), Sahar Sarid (Conceptualist.com), Jeff Bhavnanie (Recall Media Group) y Darren Clevelan (Recall media Group).

Según publica DNJournal.com, parece ser que en Bido.com se subastará un dominio por día, para dar la máxima exposición al dominio, y la comisión será de un 8%. Un panel de expertos realizará comentarios sobre el dominio que esté en subasta. Este sistema de subastas no iniciará sus actividades hasta el día 29 de febrero.

DNJournal.com también informa que DNZoom.com participará en Bido.com, aunque no queda muy claro en qué forma.

Tucows (AMEX) ha revelado, en parte, algunos datos de uno de sus mayores secretos, como es su cartera de dominios según informa Domain Name Wire.

Tucows posee unos 150.000 dominios, que representan  una parte importante del valor de la empresa. Entre su cartera de dominios se encuentran 1.000 dominios considerados como “joyas” por esta compañía, 39.000 dominios que corresponden a apellidos, 22.000 “brandable” nombres de dominios y otros 88.000 dominios con tráfico type-in.

Si el domino está en un registrar del cual ya tienes cuenta, lógicamente no te  indican en el correo el user name y password.

Cuando nos iniciamos en el mundo domainer, algunas palabras y procedimientos son desconocidos para nosotros.

Incluso cuando ya somos domainers más o menos avanzados, desconocemos cómo se hacen determinados procedimientos en algunas plataformas, ya sea porque las utilizamos poco o por cualquier otro motivo.

En este post voy a explicar cómo se hace un push en Godaddy.

Lógicamente, lo primero que hay que hacer es dirigirse a www.godaddy.com y entrar en nuestra cuenta (log in).

A continuación vamos a My Account y hacemos clic en Manage Domains.

De la lista de nuestros dominios, seleccionamos el dominio que queremos transferir y hacemos clic en el icono de Account Change.

Seguidamente obtenemos un formulario donde hay que poner los datos de la persona a la que vamos a transferir el dominio. Es especialmente importante asegurarnos de poner bien la dirección email, ya que Godaddy enviará un email a esa dirección con el Transaction ID y el Security Code, necesarios para llevar a cabo la transferencia.

A continuación tenemos que aceptar los términos y condiciones del cambio del dominio, y seguidamente Godaddy nos indica los servícios que se cancelarán una vez el dominio se haya ransferido (por ejemplo si lo teníamos en parking).

Tras aceptar, tenemos que hacer clic en OK

La persona a la que vamos a transferir el dominio recibirá en la dirección electrónica que hemos indicado, un email con el asunto “Change of Registrant Pending” y con el siguiente mensaje (en inglés):

Una vez la persona a la que queremos transferir el dominio introduce el Transaction ID y el Security Code y completa la transacción, Godaddy incia la transferencia del dominio, que puede durar entre 5 y 20 minutos si no hemos cometido ningún error.

Posteriormente, el receptor del dominio recibirá en su correo, una email de Godaddy confirmándole la transferencia:
