Snapnames te envía un correo electrónico con el asunto Auctions for back-ordered domain names are starting which will end on Mar 26, 2008, y con el siguiente texto:

The domain names you back-ordered have been acquired. As a result, a brief auction will take place for each domain name to determine to whom the domain name will be awarded. The end times for these auctions are listed below and are approximate. Be sure to check on the last day of the auction for the actual end time. Note that if multiple equal bids are received, the first bidder wins the opening bid.

The names below have multiple back-orders. To view the current state of these auctions, or change your maximum bids, click here.

Domain Name   Current Bid   Your Max. Bid   Status   Approx. End Date

———————————————————————————-

What will change about the way I do business with Moniker?
The only immediate change will be the addition of DomainSponsor as an available option for monetization services. The longer-term and more impactful change will be the opportunity to have an integrated, auction-based sales system available through SnapNames when it’s time to sell your name.

What about parking my names?
TrafficClub will continue to offer alternative parking services. Clients will be offered the choice to continue the rotation service, or move to a direct relationship with DomainSponsor. Moniker account teams will continue to be available to service your accounts.

Will Moniker continue handling auctions at Internext, TRAFFIC and other events?
Yes. However, SnapNames will handle silent auctioning for these events.

At DOMAINfest Global in January 2008, SnapNames Live will handle the auction, with Moniker providing valuation and escrow services. Moniker and SnapNames will be working to collaborate at the TRAFFIC event in February and beyond, and will announce further details in the coming weeks.

How will Moniker and SnapNames work together on domain name auctions?
SnapNames is the industry’s acknowledged leader in expiring and deleting name auctions, and has recently begun offering auction sales services for actively registered name holders. SnapNames will also conduct the SnapNames Live auction at DOMAINfest Global in Hollywood, Calif., in January 2008.

Moniker offers a range of services including appraisal, escrow, brokerage and live auction services. The company is well known and regarded in the industry.

Moniker and SnapNames will work together to offer auction sellers and buyers the best of both services’ capabilities.

Will Moniker and SnapNames operations merge?
Moniker will continue to be headquartered in Florida, and SnapNames maintains its headquarters in Oregon. Their businesses will be independently run by existing management. They will collaborate to offer customers a wider array of auction services, and otherwise will work within the Oversee.net family to offer additional services that support needs throughout the life cycle of a domain name (including procurement, monetization and sales).

Will there be any changes to SnapNames’ services?
No. SnapNames, with its partners, will continue to be responsible for the supply of names. There will be no changes to how SnapNames does business with its partners and customers.

SnapNames will be working with Moniker to offer existing Moniker services to its customers, including appraisal, escrow and other services. We’ll announce these services as they become available in the coming weeks.

How will customers who may be Oversee’s competitors be treated?
They’ll receive the same quality of service they did prior to the merger. Our relationships with our customers will not change.

Who will provide customer service?
Moniker will continue to offer customer support for the services it offers, as will SnapNames. However, one of the reasons for the transaction is the opportunity to efficiently provide customers of all Oversee companies with additional services, so we anticipate that other services will be available to you in the near future.

Will I have to learn a new system, or re-create my account, or do anything else with Moniker as a result of the merger?
No. From your point of view as a customer, there are no changes at all. It will be business as usual with Moniker, SnapNames, DomainSponsor or any other provider.

Is Moniker’s management staying on?
Yes. Monte Cahn remains President, and his team will continue to run Moniker from its Florida headquarters.

Oversee adquiere Moniker

Acabo de recibir un correo de Snapnames, en el que se anuncia que Oversee.net ha adquirido Moniker.

El correo es el siguiente:

To SnapNames Customers:

We’re contacting you with an update about Oversee.net, the parent company of SnapNames.  Moniker and its TrafficClub program, well-known service providers in the domain name industry, have been acquired by Oversee.net.

This will not directly affect your participation at SnapNames.  However, the combination of services and capabilities by Oversee, SnapNames and Moniker bring all customers a menu of services that support needs throughout the life cycle of a domain name, including procurement, monetization and sales.  Watch for more information in the coming weeks about new services available to you.

Por otra parte, en la web de Oversee, puede leerse la siguiente nota de prensa:

Moniker Joins Oversee.net

Industry leaders create a full-service domain powerhouse providing total solutions for domain professionals

Los Angeles, CA and Pompano Beach, FL (January 3, 2008) - Oversee.net, a leading technology-driven online marketing solutions company, and Moniker®, one of the fastest-growing providers of domain name registration, domain asset management, and monetization services, announced today that Oversee has acquired Moniker. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

One of the more innovative ICANN-accredited registrars, Moniker offers products and services beyond basic registration, including name creation, registration, acquisition, portfolio management, theft protection, appraisal and escrow services, traffic monetization, live and online domain auctions and aftermarket sales. The company is well regarded by registrants and domain name industry professionals as the most secure and customer-focused registrar in the industry.

Moniker operations will remain in Pompano Beach, Florida and will continue to be led by Monte Cahn, President of Moniker. Cahn has agreed to a multi-year commitment with Oversee by continuing to run Moniker, in addition to other senior executive responsibilities within Oversee.

Oversee acquired domain name auction leader SnapNames® last June, and the company believes the addition of Moniker will give Oversee a complete array of services to cement its leadership position in the domain name secondary market. Oversee will leverage the two divisions’ capabilities by adding Moniker’s live auction and back-office services to SnapNames Live™ to offer the industry’s most comprehensive live and silent auction services.

The first demonstration of the integration will be at DOMAINfest Global later this month, where SnapNames Live will lead and conduct the auction, with Moniker providing valuation and escrow services. More integrated services are planned, including:

  • Deepening Moniker’s continuing commitment to its auction partners through the use of the SnapNames Live technology in Moniker-managed auctions
  • The addition of DomainSponsor as an available option in Moniker’s TrafficClub monetization service
  • Availability of Moniker’s registrar services for SnapNames and DomainSponsor customers
  • Inclusion of traffic and monetization history as data for domain name auctions
  • A complete set of Domain Asset Management services that offer domain owners all the tools necessary to profitably manage their domains

Commenting on the transaction, Moniker CEO Cahn said, “Oversee’s advanced technology platform and strong financial resources give us the capability to focus on further expanding our market opportunity. This is a dynamic industry, and our collaboration with SnapNames puts Oversee well ahead of any competitor. This is a tremendous opportunity for Oversee and Moniker.”

“We are delighted that Monte Cahn and his team of experienced professionals are becoming part of the Oversee family,” said Lawrence Ng, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Oversee. “Our primary objective, as a company, is to continue adding and developing capabilities that offer customers a greater breadth of products and services. Moniker is widely respected by industry players and has a reputation for knowledge, security, and professionalism.”
