Una vez ha expirado un dominio, puedes hacer backorder desde las diferentes plataformas que existen para ello. Si varias personas han realizado un backorder, entre todas ellas se realiza una subasta. Las diferentes plataformas suelen avisarte (de diferente forma) de que se inicia la subasta, para que estés al corriente de ella.

Namejet te envía un correo con el asunto Namejet Notice - Auction Start, y con el siguiente texto:

Bidding Status: Losing (en este caso no ganas ya que tu puja es inferior a la más alta)
